My current work has been in 16 months development preparing for a show for Easter at Exeter Art School, two weeks before this Lock Down made the show impossible. Some debate about showing my new work that had been in production for a year and a half took place as it could be deemed insensitive due to the current crisis.I decided to put all CAD work online although only a few of the works have been realised in physical form. The virus components are constructed and layered to give emphasis to human attitudes both physical and psychological. I have experimented with constructing both virus and human form to develop their “presence” and impact on the viewer, but also to capture the part biodegraded echo of a previous existence. My most recent works draw on my response to anthropology, science and religion in order to explore the fundamental struggle between man’s universal desire for autonomy, and the natural fear of alienation and disablement.
